Friends call me Seth. From a mix parentage of Iban and Bidayuh. Able to speak a few languages which is Iban, Bidayuh, Malay, Sarawakian Malay, Mandrin and a bit of Hokian. I’m the type of person who loves to do outdoor activities, love to travel, eat, cook and do photography. I’ve spend most of my time now doing these stuff. According to the Chinese calender, I was born in the year of the Rat which means smart and wealthy and will work for success. They are sanguine and very adaptable, being popular with others. They are clever and adorable, personable and materialistic. They are also by nature thoughtful, sensible, judiciously and curious. The Gregorian calender however would point out that I was born on November, 1984 which makes me a forceful Sagittarius.
The place I call home is known as Sarawak, a city located somewhere on the island of Borneo. Currently living in a peaceful town called Kuching It is also home to the inaugural Rainforest World Music Festival, Sarawak it self has lots to offer and I enjoy being here and exploring the forest of Sarawak, full of cultural things and has many different ethnic groups.
If you are a tourist and if ever you are in Kuching, Sarawak and needs help or advice on where to eat, what to do and where to stay, you can always contact me.
Photography Life & Career
“Photography is not just a hobby for me or means of earning a living. It’s a way of preserving memories and sharing experience, an art form that should be celebrated.”
I have had this passion for photography for as long as I can remember. Since a child I was delighted in how a moment can be captured through the lens of a camera, and how time stands still within the frame of a photograph. Now I am doing photography with some friends and we call our freelance group Borneographers.
As a student, I developed my skills as a photographer by successfully completing photography courses at Diploma level. I also gained experience of media and advertising by working part time in a few companies which offer photography services, which helped my skills into context and provided me with essential business and presentation skills. This is a challenging, yet exciting time in my life, and I’m enjoying each and every minute of it. I was also selected as top 30 for the Malaysian 1st photography reality show in 2008.
